A cross-section of the CELTIC model soda fountain shows the metal ice box (J) which cooled both the beverages dispensed from the draught tubes and the syrups in their tin drawers (M).
The top wheel on the draught tube controlled the fine stream and that on the front the large stream. "In operating the tube, first stir up the syrup with the fine stream, then close this valve and open the front valve,which lets on the large stream to fill the glass."
